Plea to the Tech Gods

To Our Tech Gods Who Art in the Heavenly Wireless World,

Okay. You win. First, my cell phone up and expired. But now, you're really pushing my buttons. Did you have to take my laptop too?

My trusty Mac is currently fighing for its life in the intensive care unit at Apple repair as I write this on a borrowed computer. It's serious. My Apple genius said something about problems with the motherboard. All I know is that I went to turn it on the other day, pressing the little button in the upper right side, and nada. Zilch. Nothing. Never has no sound at all sounded so scary to my ears.

So, you win, oh techno gods. I realize I am powerless before thee. And that I am too dependent upon all your wondrous gadgets. Are you happy now? If so, please rush my laptop back to me ASAP and I promise to never again take your names in vain.

We could use this prayer for whatever it is that's in repair.
Fill in the blank.

Maybe a lighting a votive candle too !

Hi Dee, I love it, The Repair Prayer. For what it's worth, I am typing this on my son's computer and still wishing and hoping for my own laptop's safe return (sigh). I'm gonna try lighting the candle now. Thanks for reading and writing! Cheers, Laurie

AAAAAAAcccccccccckkkkkkkkkk!!! I feel for you!

I lost my computer once to motherboard problems. I was devasted as I hadn't backed ANYTHING up and I had been keeping a diary on the computer of my daughter's first year.

I had major anxiety thinking I had lost everything. Thankfully the tech geniuses were able to put all of my files on a disc to take home. But I definitely had to get a new computer.

Let us know how it works out for you...L.

Actually, appealing to "gods" would likely get you in trouble, but putting in a plea to an appropriate Angel could be useful. For this you have two choices: Mumiah is the angel with control over the sciences of physics and medicine, and then there is Umabel who has dominion over physics and astronomy. You don't have to pray. Just speak directly and courteously to each. Good luck.

An edgier, hipper (as in cooler, not wider-in-the-thighs) 21st century Erma Bombeck, writer Laurie Yarnell blogs about life with her family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and such buddies as the computer geek-on-call and her local snooty barista. (Amazingly, some of them actually still speak to her.)
